Chapter 4

The next morning, Regina did get a clogged duct.

At the crack of dawn, Tyler yanked me out of bed.

" I heard fish soup can help with clogged ducts. Go to the market and buy a fish! The lactation specialist just arrived downstairs. I''m going to get her."

Groggy, I blinked awake and reached for my phone. A notification popped up: Partner Payment.

That lactation specialist was expensive. Just like that, 1,888 dollars was gone from my account.

I stretched lazily in bed, taking my time getting dressed.

On my way past the master bedroom, I caught a glimpse of Regina clutching her chest while wincing in pain.

I smirked.

I didn''t go to the market for fish.

Ever since Regina moved in, Tyler had been obsessed with her. He spent less and less time focusing on work.

All his expenses had come straight out of my account for the past two months. That included Regina''s new clothes, salon trips, prenatal checkups, and even delivery costs.

And every time he transferred money to her, I took a screenshot.

That afternoon, I met up with an old friend—a lawyer—at a cafe.

I handed him all the evidence I had.

"I want to make sure he walks away with nothing. Is that possible?"

Nigel Davison studied the videos—Tyler and Regina tangled together—and the financial records, proof that money had been flowing between them.

It was more than enough to establish an improper relationship.

He smirked, full of confidence. "Leave it to me."

Then, shaking his head, he sighed. "I just never thought it''d come to this. You two used to be inseparable."

Tyler and I had met in college, graduated together, and gotten married. To everyone who knew us, we were the perfect couple. We had the kind of love people envied.

I had watched him stumble his way up from a clueless, ambitious kid to a corporate executive.

If Regina had never shown up, I would''ve thought Tyler and I would grow old together.

But now, that was clearly impossible.

I didn''t feel like explaining much to Nigel, so I just forced a small smile.

After finalizing the divorce agreement, I went to the real estate office to get an estimate on the value of my marital home.

Then, after scheduling a viewing with a real estate agent, I took a cab to Tyler''s office building.

I used to bring him lunch all the time, so the receptionist recognized me and led me straight to his office door.

She asked me to wait, saying Tyler was in a meeting with clients.

I didn''t care. I pushed the door open and walked right in. "Tyler, I want a divorce."

His clients, who were seated across from him, looked stunned.

Tyler''s expression darkened instantly. He hadn''t expected me to show up here.

Muttering a quick apology to his clients, he stormed over. His glare was burning with rage. "Lisa, what the hell is wrong with you?"

I didn''t bother responding. Instead, I tossed the divorce papers in his face.

"I''m not just divorcing you, I want you out with nothing. And on top of that, I want every cent of our shared finances that you spent without my consent this past month returned to me."

Outside, curious employees tried to peek at the commotion.

Tyler''s face turned an alarming shade of red as he clenched his fists. He tried to hold back his anger.

He ordered his assistant to escort the clients out, barked at his employees to mind their business, and then slammed the office door shut.

With his hands on his hips, he glanced down at the divorce papers on the floor, then back at me. Disbelief was written all over his face.

"All this… just because of last night?"

Before I could speak, he rushed to defend himself.

"Regina was going through a difficult time. What''s wrong with me helping her out? Nothing happened between us. We''re completely innocent. Are you seriously making a big deal out of this?"

I didn''t even blink. My voice was ice-cold.

"Regina moved into our home in November. Since then, you''ve transferred money to her multiple times. You also used my account to cover her expenses without my consent. In total, you spent 120 thousand dollars. So tell me, Tyler, are you paying it back or not?"
